The public presentation of Luís Carito's candidacy for mayor of Portimão, by the “Portimão Mais Feliz” coalition, takes place this Saturday, August 14, from 18:00, in Largo 1º de Maio, in front of the Paços do Concelho building . The moment will be attended by Francisco Rodrigues dos Santos, president of the CDS.
This coalition integrates the CDS, NÓS Cidadãos and Aliança.
The presentation of the lists will include interventions by the head of the list to the Municipal Assembly Ângela Venâncio Quadros and by the representative Luís Batalau.
Luís Carito, who was vice-president of the Portimão Chamber for the PS and who was involved in a case of justice, related to the Cidade do Cinema project, presented, on March 31, his «independent candidacy» to the municipality, at the time, supported by a 'multi-party movement', including, for example, the PSD.
Only the Social Democrats reversed this decision., since the support was opposed by the District and National Political Commissions.
Later, the PSD even presented another candidate: Rui André, current mayor of Monchique.
