Farense considers that "it was highly injured in the recent past" with regard to referees and, after the match this Saturday, against Estrela da Amadora, in which the game ended with eight players, João Rodrigues, president of the club, came to public ask for "respect" for the Algarve team, which disputes the II Liga.

In a statement, João Rodrigues says that «after a season in which – almost unanimously – players, coaches, managers and other impartial and unsuspected personalities in the universe of our football converged in the same opinion – that Sporting Clube Farense was highly harmed by “third parties”, this decisively contributing to our “fall” in the second echelon – we left for the current era with renewed expectations and feelings. No grudges».

However, «to the general disappointment, it happens that this Saturday, just after the third round of the SABSEG League, we see that little seems to have changed in the way our team is being treated», considers the manager.

About the match, in which Farense ended up being reduced to eight players, João Rodrigues says that, for those who didn't watch the game, «this could even suggest that there was a field battle, on our initiative, but what is certain is that in the in the end it was we who were heavily conditioned. In the game and for the immediate future in the championship».

For the president of Farense, «it is a recognized fact – in an impartial way – that Farense was highly harmed in the recent past and, unfortunately, we see that the same continues to happen. And this is shameful and unacceptable!” he accuses.

«In view of this, there is no need to mince words. And the questions arise. Is there something against Farense? Who do we bother?”, asks João Rodrigues in the statement.

Still, he continues, “one thing is guaranteed. We will never bend! We represent a region and demand, above all, respect! And we demand, henceforth, that the errors of the (sad) past and present are not repeated in the future. In the name of a club and its unique fans, a region and, why not, our entire football».

The president of Farense emphasizes that "we do not intend to be benefited, obviously, but we want to be respected".

«We are well aware that managing arbitration in Portuguese football has become a Herculean act, we believe that the Arbitration Council will do its best within the limitations, but we cannot accept that the mistakes are often against Farense. From what we see, season after season», he adds.

João Rodrigues also considers that «the football and sports institutions in Portugal, and those who oversee them, have to reflect and take a position on this repeated – and already shameful – damage to a historic and centenary emblem of Portuguese football, Sporting Clube Farense, whose record speaks for itself».

«The alert is made, with a guarantee that I underline: we will never bow down! We will always fight in all instances so that our athletes, coaches, the rest of the structure and – above all – our partners and supporters are respected! So that Farense is respected! More of the same… no thanks! Enough!”, concludes the statement.
