Eurocity of Guadiana prepares joint tourist brand

Brand will be unveiled next fall

The Eurocity of Guadiana, which includes Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, on the Portuguese side, and Ayamonte, on the Spanish side, is involved in creating a tourist brand capable of representing cultural diversity, natural resources and characteristics. of its cross-border territory, thus multiplying the potential of its infrastructures.

The Eurocity of Guadiana «is fortunate to be made up of three municipalities that already separately have an important heritage and hotel offer, but which is not comparable to the attractiveness of the marketing of the three municipalities as a whole in the Iberian and international tourist market», says the press release sent to newsrooms.

The Eurocity's technical team, accompanied by the Ayamonte Tourism Councilor Isaac Maestre and the Cross-Border Cooperation Councilor Remédios Sanchez, met with the company specialized in tourism marketing and sustainability, Koan Consulting, to discuss the main concepts of the brand and the model of tourism that you want to attract to the territory.

«Our municipalities are true gems for the visitor: nature, culture, sport… if we also manage to bring together and offer this offer in a coordinated way through a solid tourist brand, we will have better results. We are interested in sustainable tourism that respects and protects the environment, a tourist who knows how to value our territory and that the development of tourism directly benefits our citizens», emphasizes Isaac Maestre.

«We want to break seasonality, offer quality work and result in better public services», explains the Ayamonte Tourism Councilor.

The creation of the brand, which will be presented this autumn, is part of the Euroguadiana 2020 project, financed through the European Program for Cross-border Cooperation Interreg VA Spain-Portugal.

The brand joins other activities developed within the scope of EuroGuadiana, such as the Eurocity's Joint Tourism Strategy, which also has the support of the universities of Huelva and the Algarve, the Tourism Forum or support for the creation of tourist products such as Cruise Eurocity of the Guadiana.
