Angrinha Nautical Center inaugurated and handed over to Ferragudo's Maritime Scouts

Ceremony also included the signing of a lending contract by the Nautical Center

The new Angrinha Nautical Center, «a dream that came true for the Group of Scouts 413 – Marines of Ferragudo, whose old space no longer dignified and valued its service to the community and the municipality», was inaugurated this saturday, august 21st, at 19 pm.

The contract for the construction of this infrastructure cost around 140 thousand euros.

The signing ceremony of the lending contract for the Angrinha Nautical Center, between the municipality of Lagoa and the National Scout Body (CNE), which is responsible for the design of the space, took place within the scope of the commemorations of 500 years of Ferragudo.

«This is a moment of enormous importance and great justification, which is evident here in this work of replacing the old containers that housed the scouts' materials, by these new, more modern facilities and with all the conditions to receive who they are, in the county de Lagoa, the scouting movement with the largest number of elements, highlighted Luís Encarnação, president of the Municipal Council of Lagoa.

"It is thus taken another step towards the continuity of this important activity of civic formation and values of young people," added the mayor.

Ferragudo and its Maritime Scouts have thus created more and better conditions for the connection with the Arade River and the coast of the municipality of Lagoa to continue to be a reality.
