“Calçadas” returns to São Brás with a concert by Ricardo Martins

Initiative starts this Saturday, August 14th

The cultural program “Calçadas a Arte Sai à Rua” will return to the historic center of São Brás de Alportel, more precisely to Largo de São Sebastião, this Saturday, August 14th, at 22 pm, with a concert by Portuguese guitar master Ricardo J. Martins.

This is an initiative of the City Council, with the collaboration of the informal Commission “Calçadas” which strives for “invigorating the historical center of São Brasense with different artistic manifestations: musical performances, dance, live artistic creation, handicrafts, among many other activities that they have the street as a stage», says the municipality of São Brás de Alportel in a note sent to the newsrooms.

Given the constraints of the Covid-19 pandemic, “Calçadas” will return in an alternative format, this time in a live concert that promises to surprise the public with different sounds.

This concert for the presentation of the new CD by Ricardo J. Martins, São Brasense, entitled “Escapism”, will «invite a moment of freedom and/or abstraction of reality through music, along 11 original themes», he adds. the municipality.

The new album Ricardo J. Martins «reveals the musician's professional and personal growth, with influences from Portugal and the world, and which includes the participation of renowned artists from the national and international scene».

The musician explains that «the title “Escapism” reminds us of the attitude of escaping from everyday life or from a specific reality».

The themes lead their listeners «to completely different realities with Brazilian influences, fado from Lisbon and Coimbra, medieval, classical or jazz music, «11 possible escapisms to escape this current pandemic reality of restrictions and pain»

Although admission is free, a ticket is required previously reserved and collected at the Municipal Gallery, available between 9:30 am and 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 17:30 pm, and on Saturdays between 9:30 am and 13:00 pm.
