The Municipality of Silves will allocate 6840 euros under the Support Program for the Improvement of Living Conditions (PAHAB) and the Support Program for Social and Economic Dynamics (PADSE) relating to the Urban Rehabilitation Area (ARU) of São Bartolomeu de Messines .
The candidacies were approved at a Chamber meeting, on the 19th of July. Within the scope of PAHAB, three applications were approved, with a reimbursement of 5040 euros, and within the scope of PADSE, one application was approved, with a contribution of 1800 euros.
At the Alcantarilha ARU, no applications were submitted for this support to urban rehabilitation.
A new application phase for the ARU of São Bartolomeu de Messines and Alcantarilha will be opened in the first half of 2022, for the PAHAB, and in the second half of 2022 for the PADSE.
The PAHAB, explains the Municipality of Silves, «aims to contribute to the improvement of the habitability conditions of buildings located in the Urban Rehabilitation Areas and, thus, enhance the attractiveness of urban territories, namely for housing purposes, reversing the process of abandonment of which they have been the target».
In turn, PADSE «aims to contribute to the improvement of the functional conditions of buildings located in the Urban Rehabilitation Areas and, thus, socially and economically revitalize these areas, namely instilling new dynamics in the agglomerates in activities of commerce, services, crafts or manufacturing, and encouraging the action of associations, collectivities and non-profit societies».
