Figuras à Rampa, a series of five concerts that will bring together national artists dedicated to emerging places, was again postponed to the second half of August, between the 19th and 27th, at the ramp of Teatro das Figuras, in Faro. The initiative will feature previously planned performances, with concert times being announced shortly.
The successive reschedulings of this initiative are due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
«With the current restrictions [circulation restrictions on public roads from 23:00 pm]", Figuras à Rampa "would have concerts starting at 20:00 pm, since we also have the SouthMusic bands, who will play the first part of the shows, and this is something that we do not abdicate», explains Paulo Santos, vice-president of the Municipal Chamber of Faro, to Sul Informação.
“Now, in the Algarve, a show at 20 pm, in the summer, doesn't make much sense”, since, “at that time, still during the day, people are leaving the beach, which is not inviting”, he adds. .
Still on hold is the holding of the “F Nights” and the “Açoteia” festival (in a different format).
As for Figuras à Ramp, it will start on August 19 with the performance, first, of the project of Faro Galopim, one of the most applauded by the music industry who attended the concert given by the duo as part of the 1st edition of South Music and, later, with the band “Variações”, created for the tribute film to António Variações, who, live, «it will make everyone dance and sing some of the most beautiful and timeless songs of Portuguese pop», explains the note sent to the newsrooms by Teatro das Figuras.
Tiago Bettencourt will perform the following day, on 20 August, «one of the greatest artists that Portugal has seen born in the last two decades, musician, singer and author of several songs that we all know and know how to sing by heart». Before going on stage Nanook, a “one man show” which will present immersive melodies, having the blues and folk as a background.
On August 21st, Figuras à Rampa will receive the composer, multi-instrumentalist, interpreter and writer, NEEV, who «promises not to leave out of the repertoire “Dancing in the Stars”, the theme that led him to the Festival's final of this year's Song, becoming the most voted artist by the public».
Before, the night will start with «another rising Algarve talent», the singer, rapper and composer Infante, who mixes rap and R&B, hip-hop and soul, served by his unmistakable timbre.
On the night of August 26, The Legendary Tigerman comes to Faro "deliver love in rock'n'roll form", promising to "reactivate our happiest memories of concerts on summer nights, even with the safety distance that will separate us and the mask that will hide our smiles", he adds the organization.
At this point, the audience "has already entered a return to the future mode", with the blues and the rock from the 50's, 60's and 70's of the Algarve band The Mirandas, which acts before The Legendary Tigerman, and which «has conquered the south for a long time and is now looking to the other cardinal points of Portugal and the world».
The concerts by Capitão Fausto and Catalina mark the closing of the event, on August 27th.
The Lisbon band, which in 2020 crowned a national tour through the theaters with a sold out concert in Campo Pequeno alongside the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, will return to play live after the Sol Posto experience, a concert film that took fans to over 70 movie theaters, making it one of the most watched films of the year.
The night starts with the pop, R&B and soul of Catalina, an artist from the Algarve who went solo after participating in “The Voice Portugal” in 2017, but who was previously part of several musical projects in the region such as “GRYT”, “ Epiphany” and “Gaijas”.
Tickets have a single price of 10 euros, with a percentage of the revenue given to the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos de Faro.
All shows will be recorded and broadcast in deferred on the social networks of Teatro das Figuras, so that as many people as possible can have access to these concerts.
Figuras à Rampa aims to «respond to the Guaranty Culture Program in a partnership between Metrónomo, Teatro das Figuras and the Municipality of Faro, enriching the theater's programming but also the city's cultural offer, on a path to the return and return to performances».
At the event there will be «a strong investment in consolidated talent and in its combination with the local artists chosen to be part of the programme, selected from the projects participating in the South Music'.
The shows also involve teams, structures, suppliers, companies providing services in the audiovisual field, which in this way have the opportunity to resume operations, promoting a gradual return to work in the sector.
«This project is translated into a collaborative effort with municipal entities, local and national press and contemplates direct support to an essential fabric, also in crisis: restaurants and hotels», concludes Teatro das Figuras.
