Carlos Almeida, the current president of the Municipal Assembly of Monchique, was once again chosen to head the list of the PS to this body in the 2021 Municipal Elections, scheduled for 26 September.
The Socialists will also re-candidate José Gonçalo to the Monchique Council and José Gonçalves to Alferce, who are also acting presidents.
In Marmelete, the chosen candidate is Eleutério Torrado, who had already been a candidate for the PS in this parish in 2009, to "recover" this municipality.
These candidates join the Paulo Alves, the already announced PS candidate for mayor of Monchique.

José Goncalo Nobre Duarte da Silva, 61 years old, married, with two children, is retired, has a degree in Cultural Heritage and a master's degree in Art History and current president of the Parish Council of Monchique
Jose Manuel Pereira Goncalves, 55 years old, married, two children, has a degree in architecture and civil engineering and is currently president of the Parish Council of Alferce
Eleutério José do Nascimento da Glória Torrado, 53 years old, married, one is a son, a teacher, with a degree in physical education
