But, for the rest, everything changed in the former Hotel Globo, which was completely remodeled from top to bottom and is now reborn with the name of WHE Hotel – Work, Holiday & Enjoy.
The renovated hotel unit opened its doors this Saturday, the 17th, with a strong focus on technology and functionality. The rooms are equipped with technology, which allows each person to feel at home with their series and movies available in streaming. Throughout the space, there is access to fast wifi connection. O check-in is done in a way contactless e courses through an application to smartphone. Therefore, Portimão has, once again, an offer of accommodation in the center of the city, prepared for those traveling for leisure and business.
Marked by a relaxed and modern decor, the 66 rooms offer a choice of double, twin, single, suite and family room. Access to the room is via a digital key. WHE rooms are equipped with smart tvs 43″ inch, access to over 150 channels from around the world with connection chromecast.
All stays include buffet breakfast, in a room with a panoramic view of the mouth of the River Arade and the historic area of Portimão. Bath products are ecological and dermatologically tested, with a distribution system airless and watertight antibacterial, without preservatives.
Check-in and check-out times in rooms can be adjusted, subject to availability at the time, without additional costs.
“Portimão is a dynamic city and the WHE wants to respond to this dynamism, which is seen in the historic centre. It is a space equipped with technology, next to the beach and inside the city, where you can 'Work, Holiday & Enjoy' (WHE)”, says Eduardo Lopes, from Welcome Hospitality Management, the company that manages the hotel.
In addition to investing in technology, the WHE is also prepared to host events and has a room for small groups.
The nearby Alameda da República car park has preferential rates for hotel guests.
Within walking distance, you will also find local shops, restaurants, boat trips, Praia da Rocha on one side of the city and the beaches and village of Ferragudo on the other side of the Arade.
From Portimão, you can enjoy the riverside area with boat trips along the Arade River or a visit to Ferragudo, the marina 5 minutes away, the beach and nightlife of Praia da Rocha or aerial experiences at the Municipal Aerodrome, both within easy reach. less than 10 minutes away, and Autodromo Internacional car events and activities are 15 minutes away from the hotel.
The WHE Hotel, Work, Holiday Enjoy, owned by Fundo Vega-FCR, managed by Dunas Capital, began construction in 2021 and was renovated in the midst of a pandemic, in a context of confinement. The total refurbishment project is already being developed by architect Sidney Quintela and will bring new features to the space in the coming years.
