Smartcity: Lagoa project is the subject of an online seminar

The Smartcity:Lagoa project will be the focus of another session of the Innovation & Local Development (IDL) seminar cycle, which will be promoted by the Municipal Observatory of the Portuguese Catholic University CESOP-Local tomorrow, the 24th, at 15:00 pm.

The “Innovation & Local Development Seminar: The Smartcity:Lagoa Project” will take place online, on the Zoom platform.

Although the virtual room has limited access to guests, local authorities and experts, the general public can follow the session through the CESOP-Local Youtube, “by being able to ask your questions via the chat box”.

«In the 6th edition of the IDL, we will talk to the first Smart City in the Algarve about Digital Transition, Intelligent Data Analysis, Monitoring, Trust, Integration and Transparency», according to the event's organizers.

The Smart City Control Center in the municipality of Lagoa, the first in the Algarve region, «has the mission of bringing citizens closer to the municipality, but also bringing positive impacts on the business, associative and educational fabric of the Algarve municipality».

«These data, after being collected and analyzed, start the respective resolution processes through the platform/app made available online for this purpose.», adds CESOP-Local.

At this stage, the Control Center of the Municipality of Lagoa «monitors situations reported by the citizens regarding water and sanitation, gardens, cleaning and waste, inspection (works) and infrastructure, but monitoring is expected to extend to areas such as tourism and electricity. and that counts with the help of a network of sensors spread throughout the county, optimizing the interaction and proximity between the municipality and the citizens in favor of a more participative and efficient communication and management of resources, promoting mobility, safety and accessibility».

The Control Center "is in permanent operation, collecting sensing data, as well as situations reported by citizens".
