INEM strengthens emergency network in Algarve and Alentejo during the summer

There will also be two Automatic External Defibrillation devices for the islands of Tavira and Armona

The National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) will reinforce the Algarve's medical emergency device during the summer, with the provision of five additional emergency means, through Medical Emergency Posts located in Ferreiras (Portuguese Red Cross of Silves), Fuseta (Portuguese Red Cross from Olhão), Almancil (Portuguese Red Cross from Faro-Loulé) and Albufeira (Voluntary Firefighters of Albufeira), as well as the opening of an Emergency Medical Ambulance in Tavira.

Thus, the Algarve region concentrates almost half of the INEM's reinforcement at national level, between June and September, and that involves the introduction of 11 emergency means in different geographical areas.

Also in the Algarve, INEM will provide External Automatic Defibrillation devices to the Voluntary Firefighters of Tavira and Olhão. for use on the islands of Tavira and Armona.

In Alentejo, Grândola and Odemira will also have a reinforcement of the pre-hospital assistance activity, through Medical Emergency Stations located, respectively, in the Voluntary Fire Service of Grândola and Vila Nova de Milfontes.
