The VIII Share Reading Meeting, dedicated to the theme “The art of making readers”, will take place on May 4th, between 9:30 am and 17:30 pm, with online transmission, on the Zoom platform.

This meeting is aimed at library professionals, teachers, teacher librarians, educators, reading mediators, professionals in educational services and the general public.

Over the course of eight years, the objective of these meetings is to «disseminate knowledge, good practices, resources and experiences with a view to obtaining common results».

The organization's concern is “to address issues related to the sphere of action of libraries, namely issues of reading and literacy, their promotion and mediation, the inclusive role of its services, offered on the basis of equal access, which seek to respond to the real needs of its users and the work carried out in partnership with local actors'.

The Share Reading meetings are hosted by the Municipal Library of Faro António Ramos Rosa, since 2012, in a partnership with the University of Algarve Library and the Algarve School Libraries Network, joining in this edition the José Mariano Gago Municipal Library, from Olhão.

This initiative, which is now in its eighth edition, intends to «be a meeting for reflection on the challenges facing libraries, bringing together a wide range of partners in the area of information and the promotion of reading», says the municipality.

Registration for the meetings is free and can be done through the organization's website, where the program can also be consulted.

Certificate of Short Term Actions (ACD) will be awarded to teachers (upon registration).
