Tourist suffers cardiorespiratory arrest on Albufeira beach and is in critical condition

A man was the target of resuscitation maneuvers still on the sand

A 62-year-old Spanish citizen suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest at Barranco das Belharucas beach, in Albufeira, and was transported to hospital in critical condition, this Sunday, May 16th.

​Yesterday, at 15 pm, the Maritime Police of Albufeira received an alert «informing that there was a man in cardiorespiratory arrest on the sand, and members of the Maritime Police, a vehicle from the “SeaWatch” project, were immediately sent to the site. Albufeira's Volunteer Firefighters and an Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from INEM», according to the National Maritime Authority.

The victim was subject to resuscitation maneuvers while still on the beach, and was then «removed from the beach and transported to a hospital by the Albufeira Voluntary Fire Service in critical condition».
