Rotary Club Faro gives Career Merit Award to Jorge Leitão

Jorge Leitão, «throughout his vast and rich professional career and his life, was always available to help and support those most in need»

Jorge Leitão received this Tuesday afternoon, May 18, the Career Merit Award, given by the Rotary Club of Faro. 

«A humanist with a great civic spirit and great commitment to the social cause, Jorge Leitão, a lawyer for more than 40 years, was a professor at the Liceu Nacional de Faro and also at Escola Tomás Cabreira», says the Rotary Club.

In addition to Criminal Investigation Judge of Faro, was elected member of the Municipal Assembly of Faro.

«Always a great defender of social causes, he dedicated and dedicates much of his time to social solidarity associations, collaborating with various institutions such as Provectus, Caritas Diocesana do Algarve, Diocese of Algarve, being part of the Boards of the Algarve Delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross and AAPACDM – Algarvian Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Diminished Children».

He was distinguished in 2018 with the Medal of Merit – Gold Grade, awarded by the Municipality of Faro.

Bruno Lage, president of the Rotary Club of Faro, said at the time of awarding the award that Jorge Leitão, «throughout his vast and rich professional career and his life, has always been available to help and support the most needy, with the sole purpose of contributing to a better world and to a better world. a more cohesive and fair society for which the distinction now given is completely deserved».
