Navy continues oceanographic studies between Sines and Faro

Second phase of the campaign started on the 26th

The ship Almirante Gago Coutinho started the second phase of a hydro-oceanographic campaign to collect surface sediment samples, between Faro and Sines.

The objective of this stage of the Portuguese Republic Ship's mission, which began on the 26th, is to collect elements that will allow «to complement the sampling network needed to review the sedimentary cartography, off the Vicentina coast and the southern coast of the Algarve», according to the Navy .

"In addition to the ship's garrison, the ship has a technical team of nine elements from the Hydrographic Institute's Marine Geology Division on board," he added.
