“Ideias em Caixa” extends the application period until May

Aspiring entrepreneurs have more time to present their business idea and apply for €5 support

The application period for the seventh edition of “Ideas in Box” contest, to promote youth entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, was extended until 14 May.

This way, those who have business ideas and want to form a new company have more time to submit their proposal to this initiative promoted by CRIA - Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer of the University of Algarve, in partnership with the Business Association of the Region of Algarve (NERA) and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE).

This initiative is open to the participation of any person (individually or in a group) who intends to develop a business idea, in any sector of activity.

In the end, 30 euros in prizes will be distributed, more precisely 5 euros to each of the winning ideas in six categories: Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC), Information Technologies, Communication and Electronics (TICE), Agrifood, Health and Good -Being, Renewable Energy, Sea and Tourism.

The best business ideas will also have «access to an Acceleration Program, Business Coaching and other prizes to support the creation of the company», according to UAlg.

With the extension of the application acceptance date – originally it was February 26th -, the entire competition schedule was altered.

Thus, the Business Labs, during which all candidates selected in the 1st phase will participate «in a series of seminars and maturation workshops, where they will develop their business ideas through specialized consultancy», will take place from May 29th to May 18th June 2021.

The final evaluation will take place between June 19th and July 2nd.

The Contest «Ideias em Caixa» «is one of the core activities of the Restart Algarve project: Regional Support Network for Entrepreneurship, co-financed by the Support System for Collective Actions – Promotion of Entrepreneurial Spirit, of the Regional Operational Program of the Algarve 2014-2020 (CRESC Algarve 2020), and developed in partnership by the University of Algarve, Business Association of the Algarve Region (NERA) and with the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE)», concluded UAlg.
