Aspiring entrepreneurs can still apply for “Ideias em Caixa”

Contest is promoted by the University of Algarve, in partnership with NERA and ANJE

Aspiring entrepreneurs who want help to carry out their projects have until the 26th of February to apply for “Ideias em Caixa”, which has 30 euros in prizes to be distributed to the winners of each of the six categories.

CRIA – Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer of the University of Algarve, in partnership with the Business Association of the Algarve Region (NERA) and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), is promoting the seventh edition of this initiative, whose main objective is «the promotion of young entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial initiative, through the creation of new companies», in the areas of Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC), Information Technologies, Communication and Electronics (TICE), Agrifood, Health and Welfare , Renewable Energy, Sea and Tourism.

«The best business ideas will have access to an Acceleration Program, Business Coaching and other prizes to support the creation of the company, and the first place in each category in the competition will receive a monetary prize of 5 thousand euros», according to UAlg.

The competition has three distinct phases, the last one culminating with the presentation of the business models to the jury. Until the final stage, all participants in this competition will have access to a series of seminars and maturation workshops, where they will develop their business ideas through specialized consultancy in the different areas of business creation and management, marketing, finance, obtaining financing, among other topics.

Since its first edition, this initiative has counted more than 400 applications, having supported the creation and consolidation of more than 40 companies in the region, thus contributing to the creation of value in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Algarve region.

«This initiative is one of the core activities of the RESTART ALGARVE project: Regional Entrepreneurship Support Network, a project co-financed by the Support System for Collective Actions – Promotion of Entrepreneurial Spirit, of the Algarve Regional Operational Program 2014-2020 (CRESC Algarve 2020) , and developed in partnership with the Business Association of the Algarve Region (NERA) and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE)», concluded the Algarve University.
