The Algarve's João Virgínia debuted, this Saturday, in Premier Lague (English Premier League), in Everton's home defeat against Burnley (1-2). The goalkeeper came on in the 43rd minute, due to an injury to English international Jordan Pickford, when the team he represents had already conceded both goals.

The performance of João Virgínia, who, in the second half, kept the goal inviolable and denied Burnley's third goal, with a good intervention, was praised on social media by supporters of the team coached by Carlo Ancelotti, as one of the only positive points of the meeting.

This was the second official game played by João Virgínia for Everton.

In September, it had made its debut in the League Cup, in a match in which the Toffees they won 3-0 at Salford, but had not yet had the opportunity to show service in the Premier League.
