The Chamber of Alcoutim approved, at the meeting held this Wednesday, March 17, a financial support of 30 euros for the Parish Center of Vaqueiros.
«Considering that the institution provides the service on Sundays and holidays, which increases the number of employees and their respective expenses, the support to be attributed will meet the financial difficulties experienced by the Parish Center», says the Alcoutim Chamber.
The institution currently assists 25 elderly people, 4 of them in the Day Center and the remaining 21 in Home Support, which requires daily commuting of hundreds of kilometers.
"Since such a large parish and with very dispersed villages, this means that the support to 25 users distributed throughout the parish has very high costs, which makes spending on these users much higher than the reference values per user", adds the autarchy.
The Vaqueiros Parish Center has been in existence for 31 years and serves the elderly population.
