In this new category, in addition to the Airport of Faro, the airports of Porto, Madeira and Ponta Delgada stood out among the best in Europe.

In this category, the merit attributed by the ACI highlights the company that manages the Airport of Faro, "proves evidence of the priority of ANA/Vinci Airports in updating health safety procedures and the permanent concern to improve the experience of passengers."

All airports ANA/VINCI Airports “have implemented protection measures since the beginning of the pandemic crisis (December 2019), in close collaboration with the health authorities, adding measures and optimizing processes whenever necessary”, adds ANA/Vinci.

According to Luis Felipe de Oliveira, general director of ACI World, «the awards demonstrate the focus of the winning airports on offering experiences of excellence, highlighting them as exemplars».

The official emphasizes that "even under the circumstances, the voice of passengers recognizes the effort and commitment of the teams to provide superior quality services."

Thierry Liggonière, CEO of ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, stresses the importance of this recognition “in a year of uncertainty, our teams have shown commitment and resilience. We were able to reinvent ourselves, adapt and innovate, ensuring the protection of everyone, for everyone. These awards show us that we are on the right path towards the recovery of the aviation market, with the necessary confidence in the new passenger experience».

The ACI awards were awarded under the ASQ international program, Quality of Airport Services, which aims to measure the overall satisfaction of passengers in relation to the services and products offered and understand how their perspectives and expectations have been changing. Implemented on a global scale, this initiative identifies best practices, promoting competitiveness in the industry.
