The Support Line for the Treasury of Micro and Small Enterprises in Tourism was reinforced by 20 million euros, now moving to a total budget allocation of 120 million euros.

The order of the Secretary of State for Tourism of February 19 also set an additional value of 250 euros per company, in addition to the value of the performance bonus, for companies that adhere to the Clean & Safe Seal and attend at least one of the respective actions training in 2021.

The changes also include the application of a moratorium on the start of refunds, moving these to June 30, 2022.

Managed by Turismo de Portugal and created as a mechanism to support the treasury of tourism companies in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Treasury Support Line for Micro and Small Tourism Enterprises has so far received 10.368 applications and funding approved of 92,8 million euros.

Through this Line, micro and small companies in the sector can access financial support corresponding to 750 euros per job/month, for a period of 3 months, up to a maximum of 20 thousand euros in the case of micro-enterprises and 30 thousand euros for small businesses. In both situations, 20% of those amounts can be converted to non-refundable funds.

“We will continue to work to respond to the needs of companies and workers in our sector, which is so hard hit by this pandemic. The micro-credit line managed by Turismo de Portugal, aimed at tourist micro-enterprises and, meanwhile, extended to small businesses, has presented a very competent response, acting in complementarity with other support instruments created by the Government with the aim of safeguarding the survival of our companies and the maintenance of their human capital”, said Secretary of State for Tourism Rita Marques.
