Algarve GNR and PSP start to be vaccinated this weekend

In all, 19 professionals from these two security forces will be vaccinated against Covid-1281.

After the firefighters, it will be the turn of the GNR and PSP troops in the Algarve to be vaccinated against Covid-19. The vaccination campaign of the security forces begins this weekend and will reach 1281 professionals, between the two institutions, revealed this Friday Paulo Morgado, president of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve.

The vaccination of peacekeepers, which began yesterday, will "be completed today", the 11th. , revealed the head of the Regional Health Authority, at the press conference to assess the epidemiological situation in the Algarve, which took place today in Loulé.

In all, "745 GNR soldiers and 536 PSP agents" will be vaccinated.

On Monday, the vaccination of people over 80 years old who do not live in homes and those over 50 and associated serious diseases, which began this week, will also be extended.

At first, pilot experiments were carried out in Olhão and Portimão, but from the 15th this vaccination will be «extended to seven points», which will still be stipulated this afternoon by the ARS.

So far, said Paulo Morgado, "around 11 vaccines" have arrived in the region, with the number of people vaccinated being, even so, lower, taking into account that there have already been elderly people and health professionals who have already received the second dose.

Also with regard to the security forces, Ana Cristina Guerreiro, the Regional Health delegate, reported to the Special Police Unit at the Airport.

“So far, six chaos has been monitored, but more may have arisen yesterday. We haven't done that final analysis yet,” he said.

This meant that the affected team had "to stay mostly at home". "Of the 32 or 34 members of the team, fifteen are at home in prophylactic isolation, in addition to the six who tested positive."
