Cleaning action collected 75 tonnes of waste near the Albufeira Terminal

This cleaning action took four days and involved 20 professionals

Albufeira City Council last week collected 75 tonnes of waste in an area adjacent to the city's Bus Terminal.

This cleaning action took four days and involved 20 professionals, including elements from the Municipality and Luságua, a company to which the Municipality of Albufeira granted a concession for urban cleaning.

Of the 75 tons of waste collected, 5,5 correspond to monsters and the remainder is the mixture of undifferentiated waste. This operation resulted from a cleanup action in that area, over four days, last week.

According to José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, «this situation has been worrying us for a long time».

«It's Albufeira's calling card for many people and it didn't correspond to who we are», he says.

The mayor recalls that inspection is active and will be more attentive to those who unduly deposit waste and "monsters" in that space, as well as in the others.

“I am sure that we all like to see a clean and pleasant entry into the city. I count on the collaboration of all, in the exercise of what is the most basic of citizenship», he concludes.

The number for which those interested in collecting large-scale waste is 289 246 592.
