A documentary, a mass and three webinars. These are the initiatives with which Vila do Bispo will celebrate, from 20 to 23 January, its Municipal Holiday, betting on online events.
Of the various initiatives scheduled, one of the highlights is the documentary “From Cabo Sagrado to Cabo de São Vicente”, which will be broadcast live on the 22nd, at 21 pm, on Facebook e Youtube of the municipality.
The entire history of Man's religiosity manifestations in the territory that make up the current municipality of Vila do Bispo will be covered in about 30 minutes.
The narrative begins in Prehistory, runs through the testimonies of the ancient Greeks and Romans, analyzes the cult of Saint Vincent to the present day, evoking all who come here to contemplate the expressions of Nature along the cliffs of Sagres.
Framed with images and having as scenarios the Menhir do Padrão, the Promontory of Sagres, the Forte do Beliche, the Cape of São Vicente and the Igreja Matriz in Vila do Bispo, this project, under the responsibility of the City Council, «seeks to attract attention for the importance of the past and of its heritages that have reached our days», says the Town Council of Vila do Bispo.
The program also includes the celebration of the Eucharist on January 22, at 15:30 pm, at the Igreja Matriz in Vila do Bispo, which will be broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube in the municipality.
In addition, there will be three Webinars with the themes “Plants Endangered with Extinction – The Red List of the Vascular Flora of Portugal”, “Vila do Bispo: A Sacred Territory” and “Origins#1” on the 20th, 22nd and 23rd, respectively.
