Loulé celebrates 33 years of becoming a city with “postcards” and Mário Laginha

Commemorative program will take place exclusively online

Loulé will celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the elevation to the city on Monday, February 1st, with an online commemorative program, where there will be no lack of “postcards” from the county, the traditional message from the president and a concert with Mario Laginha.

It is with an initiative of this pianist, who has roots in Loulé, that these commemorations will be launched, which everyone can follow through the social networks and Youtube of the municipality of Loulé.

At 10:00 am on Monday, a new video clip by Mário Laginha Trio will be released, “”Muirapuama”, recorded in Loulé, as part of an artistic residency promoted by Cineteatro Louletano – which also celebrates on the 1st the ten years since its reopening.

From 10:30 am and throughout the day, the municipality presents the initiative “Loulé in Postcards”, «with the publication on Facebook of several images of the city, as a way to pay homage to that which is the seat of the county, to highlight its heritage , events, streets and alleys, their experiences, their dynamism and traditions».

«These will be images of an extremely important city for the entire Algarve region, which, similarly to what has happened with the municipality itself, has experienced significant development over the last few decades», explained the Câmara de Loulé.

At 17:30 pm, a message will be issued from Vítor Aleixo, president of the Loulé Chamber, “who will highlight the work carried out in the last year, with the motto: #loulenaopara”.

The program will end with a concert by Mário Laginha, which starts at 19 pm and will be broadcast at Youtube, in streaming, from the stage of Cineteatro Louletano.

The pianist will be accompanied in this online show by Bernardo Moreira and Alexandre Frazão.

This concert is a re-edition of the reopening show of Cine Teatro Louletano, on February 1, 2011.

“Unfortunately, due to the situation at Covid-19 and the restrictions we are experiencing, it will not be possible to celebrate the City Day of Loulé in the way we would like, in person, with the participation of all residents. Therefore, similarly to what we have been doing to mark other events, we propose this online program so that Loulés, in the safety of their homes, can follow another anniversary of their city, a central and reference city in the context of the region. », said Vítor Aleixo.
