There are over 327 cases of Covid-19 and 10 deaths in the Algarve, on a day when Portugal reached a new daily maximum of infected people and deaths, according to the data of the epidemiological bulletin this Thursday, January 28, just released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS).
In terms of cases, this is a lower number than that registered yesterday in the Algarve, when the region added 500 new infections. In accumulated terms, the Algarve now registers a total of 16.353 cases.
As for the number of deaths, today it reached the previous regional record (10). Since the start of the pandemic, 193 people have died from Covid-19 in the Algarve region.
In Alentejo, there are now 529 more infected (total of 23.737) and 23 deaths (620 in total).
Today, unfortunately, the pandemic has once again broken all records in Portugal. Across the country, there are now 16.432 more infected and 303 deaths.
Since March, there have been, in Portugal, 685.383 infected and 11.608 deaths, victims of Covid-19.
By region, the majority of new cases this Wednesday were reported in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (8.621), followed by the North (4.057), the Center (2.736), Alentejo (529), Algarve (327), Madeira (95) and the Azores (67).
In terms of recovered, there are 8.946 more. In total, 493.699 people have already managed to win Covid-19 in Portugal. As for the active cases, there are now 7.183 (plus 180.076).
As for the number of hospitalized, it went down, which is good news. There are now 38 fewer hospitalized due to Covid-19, out of a total of 6565. In intensive care, there are 782 patients (less 1).
Finally, there are 223.150 contacts under surveillance today, 2.894 more compared to yesterday's bulletin.
