It may have been "one of the most atypical years in memory", but that didn't stop two neighboring bands from punk rock, have joined. You algarvians Against Current and the alentejanos Suspects of Custom got together to create the album “Ao Vivo – Session Studio”, which will be released on February 13th.
According to the bands, «the idea of making this album arose as a way to overcome the lack of connection with the public with the absence of shows during the year 2020. We noticed that there were few works released by bands from punk captured live and we decided to move forward».
In addition, «for many years there has been a connection between the members of these two bands, since the beginning of 2003, with Abandalhados and Punk C'Mantega, and that relationship has remained strong until today, with the beginning of Suspicos do Custom and Counter Current».
The two sets claim to be 'companions of the same style of punk rock representing the south of Portugal, maintaining a strong connection between the Algarve and Alentejo bands».
The album has six tracks, with each of the ensembles performing three of them.
mind made of lime (original by Pee Jamma), Without direction e Lisbon Girl and Girl (original by Carlos do Carmo, recently deceased) were the themes interpreted and recorded live, in August, at the Cine Teatro Camacho Costa, in Odemira, by Susbitos do Costume. The capture was by Márcio Conceição and the mixing and mastering by Miguel Marques.
Contra Current, who recorded in September at Zinfandel, contributed with New world, Meaningless e Envy for this album. The capture was done by Bruno Pinguinha and the mixing and mastering by João Carlos.
The Suspects of Costume are composed by Rui Matos, on vocals, Telmo Carrilho and Adriano Almeida on guitars and choirs, Ricardo Martins on bass and choirs and João Emídio on drums.
João Relógio on vocals, João Carlos on guitar, João Bernardo on bass and João Dourado on drums are Contra Corrente.
