Albufeira hosts lifeguard training course

The course costs 200 euros

The Lifeguards Association of Albufeira will promote, from January 11th to February 12th, a course for lifeguards, comprising 31 sessions. Registration is open until Thursday, January 7th.

The course will consist of 31 sessions in a total of 150 hours, from Monday to Saturday with admission tests (5 hours daily), in which the final exam will be held during working hours and on a date to be determined by the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos.

Anyone wishing to enroll must be at least 18 years old, as well as having a minimum educational qualification, according to the date of birth.

You must also prove the professional activities developed and other relevant elements to assess your ability to attend the course and have physical and psychological conditions for lifeguard activity, proven by a medical certificate.

The course costs 200 euros, including insurance, lifeguard manual and a resuscitation mask.

The admission tests are: running 2400 meters in a maximum time of 14 minutes, swimming 100 meters free, in a maximum time of 1.50 minutes, underwater swimming (apnea) in a minimum time of 20 seconds, swimming 25 meters on the back, only with a stroke of legs and pick up two weights to a minimum depth of 2 meters.
