Tavira celebrates the anniversary of the Mediterranean Diet as a World Heritage Site

Celebration ends with an online concert by Pedro Jóia Trio

Tavira will mark, on December 4th, the 7th anniversary of the inscription of the Mediterranean Diet as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, whose classification ceremony took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2013.

To celebrate this date, the Municipality of Tavira will offer students from the 1st Cycle of Basic Education in the municipality the textbook “A Maria, o Grandfather Silvestre and the Mediterranean Diet” (online version on the websites of the Municipality and the Mediterranean Diet). This aims to show the youngsters the principles of the Mediterranean Diet, under the CRESC Algarve 2020 application.

Also in partnership with the Vila Real de Santo António School of Hotel and Tourism, the Algarve III – Sotavento Health Center Group and the Tavira Health Center, the municipality has prepared a weekend menu based on dietary standards. from the mediterranean diet to
disclose, in the Municipality Facebook and on the website of Mediterranean Diet.

The celebration ends with the online transmission of the Pedro Jóia Trio concert (Pedro Jóia – guitar, Norton Daiello – bass and João Frade – accordion), at 21:30 pm, with a stage at Igreja da Misericórdia.
