Loulé cultural associations and agents can apply from Wednesday to January 9th for the Loulé Chamber Theater Support Grant.
This municipal support is aimed at «the associative and artistic environment (agents and structures with legal personality and headquartered in the municipality), namely amateur and professional projects in the field of theatre», according to the local authority.
For the year 2021, the total value of this support will be 75 thousand euros, "which reveals an increase of 25 thousand euros in global funding compared to the previous year".
Interested parties should submit their proposals to Loulé City Council through Cineteatro Louletano, to the email [email protected] or by mailing the necessary documentation to Cineteatro Louletano, Av. José da Costa Mealha, 8100-501 , Loulé, until the 9th of January 2021. All applications submitted after that date will be excluded.

In the view of the Loulé Council, this support, reinstated in 2014, shortly after the election of socialist Vítor Aleixo for his first term, «is an important instrument of support by the municipality to theatrical creation, as it focuses on presentation of unpublished pieces, and which has, on the other hand, allowed amateur and professional groups based in Loulé to obtain effective support for the creative component».
«The Stock Exchange is also an important way of decentralizing cultural practices and dynamics in the municipality of Loulé, since there is a commitment by each amateur group to present three shows, two of which must be performed in the parishes of the municipality. », adds the municipality.
At the same time, «the external promotion and circulation of professional theatrical structures in Loulet is stimulated through the obligation to carry out two presentations in other municipalities in the Algarve that integrate the Rede Azul – Algarve Theater Network, of which the Cineteatro Louletano is a member» .
The Theater Support Grant also provides a formative dimension, which gradually contributes to greater artistic training and qualification of amateur competitors and their members and projects.
