Garvefole releases 25 video clips and the CD “The Accordion by the hands of young people”

Album features 36 young musicians

From December 15th, every day, at 21 pm, two video clips of the new album “The Accordion by the Young Hands – Vol.00″ will be released on Garvefole Accordion Association youtube channel and the your social networks.

After starting, in 2013, this pioneering project in Portugal, produced by professor Nelson Conceição and which already has the participation of 46 young people, now comes the 4th volume promoted by the Associação de Accordeão Garvefole, which, this time, counts with the release of 25 video clips recorded by videographer João Espada in various parts of the Algarve.

This album, which had the participation of some guest musicians (Ricardo Martins, on Portuguese guitar, and Cláudio Sousa, on classical guitar and electric bass), will be available on the main digital platforms and also in physical format at Christmas.

It counts with the participation of 36 young people, many of them national accordion champions and with a very remarkable curriculum with several awards at international level, including the world champion João Palma.

The young participants are:

Ana Luísa de Águeda, André Martins; Andreia Martins, Bruna Palma, Carina Duarte; Catarina Viegas, Cristiano Teixeira, David Mendes; Gonçalo Bicho, Hugo Afonso; Inês Faria; João Palma; Lara Coelho; Madalena Sousa, Mariana Coelho; Mateus Marrachinho; Matilde Sousa; Miguel Coelho; Pedro Gonçalves; Pedro Ramos; Rodrigo Veloso; Tiago Coelho, Tiago Conceição; Tiago Mendes, Tito Alexandre; Tomás Alexandre and the Folequestra group, constituted by Ana Rita Correia; André Duarte; Andreia Cabrita, Catarina Coelho; Daniel Silva; Gonçalo Guerreiro; Hernâni Cerqueira; Jessica Warrior; Jessica Silvestre; Melissa Simplicio.

«Although this album deals with some international authors, it ends up, however, focusing mostly on Portuguese authors, with emphasis on 11 composers from the Algarve», explains Nelson Conceição.

Of these authors, some are "well known to the general public and others less well known", but all, "due to the quality they have patented, do not deserve to be forgotten, thus linking the youth to the ancestors who enriched the history of Algarve music and the accordion ».

This initiative has the support of the Municipalities of Loulé, Albufeira and Faro, of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, of the Parish Councils of São Clemente, Boliqueime, Santa Bárbara de Nexe, Conceição and Estoi, Albufeira, Ferreiras, Guia, Paderne and São Bartolomeu de Messines, Association of Accordionists of the Algarve – Mito Algarvio, Sociedade Recreativa Bordeirense, APEXA and Beltuna.

"When the present wants a future
Without understanding the past,
It's building in the dark,
With ignorance on your side,
a dark path
With fate distorted”.
