Miguel Oliveira has just won the Grand Prix of Portugal in MotoGP, held this Sunday at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão, in a great return to what was, for a long time, his property.

The Portuguese KTM driver started from pole position and, after a good start, he kept the lead in the race, which was consolidating lap after lap, with a very fast pace on a track he knows very well.

With the advantage he had, Miguel Oliveira only had to maintain his discipline and crossed the line with a 3.1 second lead, securing his second victory in a MotoGP race, after being the first Portuguese to achieve the feat, in August, in Austria.

«It was a perfect weekend», commented to Sport TV Paulo Oliveira, father of the pilot, after the victory.

The driver was also visibly moved and could not contain some tears of joy at the end of the race, as he celebrated with his team and their families.

«It's an amazing day for me, I have no words to describe it. Thanks to the people who were at home and who couldn't be here. It was super special, because my family can't see my first victory live [Austria], but today they're here», the Portuguese pilot told Sport TV.

Miguel Oliveira also left a thank you to his team. “It's goodbye to Tech3 but I appreciate the support. It was a great victory for KTM».
