The Fortress of Sagres and the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe host, on November 28th and 29th and December 1st and 2nd, music, dance, drawing and word performances within the scope of DiVaM, the Program for the Dissemination and Valorization of Monuments of the Algarve.
According to the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, which promotes DiVaM, «the schedule scheduled for December will be maintained, as planned, with new times and with all the security measures defined by the DGS».
Thus, the Sagres Fortress Auditorium receives, on November 28, at 11:30 am, the project “on the back of words”. It is a multidisciplinary performance where, face-to-face, the words taken from the volumes “No Avesso das Horas” by Sara Martins and “A Fonte das Palavras” by Tiago Marcos are placed, wrapped in sound environments processed live by Luís Caracinha.
The show promoted by AOPP – Associação Oficina de Planeamento e Participação – is produced by Epopeia – Make It Happen, with Ricardo Branco on sound, Didier Grelha on lighting and Ana Neto on production.
On Sunday, the 29th, at 11:30 am, the 1st concert of the Artis XXI Cycle – Duo Fermanian & Micael – also in the Auditorium of the Fortaleza de Sagres.
With a very fluent dialogue between Guitar (José Micael) and Violin (Vasken Fermanian), the idea of this project is to show the public a wide range of technical, interpretive and timbre resources that these instruments can offer, through a very wide repertoire. enticing and diversified that includes works by classical composers of the century. XNUMXth century to the great classics of samba and bossa nova, such as Pixinguinha and Chico Buarque.
This is a project promoted by ARTIS XXI – Association of Artistic Education of Lagoa.
For its part, the Hermitage of Our Lady of Guadalupe hosts on Sunday, November 29, at 16 pm, the concert integrated in the Festival D'Aquém Mar – Festival with Ancient Sounds, with Ricardo Leitão Pedro (Tenor and Alaúdista), with the program “No val das mais Belas”.
Luys de Milán, a Spanish musician and writer, publishes in Valencia in 1536 “El Maestro”, a book of music for vihuela de mano dedicated to the Portuguese king D. João III. In this book, we find several instrumental pieces of an improvisatory nature and songs in Castilian, Portuguese and Italian, including novels that describe battles against the Moors and other historical events.
Many of the songs in this program are still taken from Portuguese songbooks from the first half of the XNUMXth century, arranged for solo voice and instrumental accompaniment.
This is a project by Elsa Mathei, promoted by the Associação Questão Repetida, supported by the PAAC – Program of Support for Cultural Action of DRCAlg.
The concert Nelson Conceição & Guests will take place on December 1st, at Sagres fortress, at 16 pm. This project presents a dialogue between Nelson Conceição's accordion, Cristina Paulo's voice and Luís Henrique's double bass, through original themes that mix jazz and/or classical music with fado and traditional music with touches of improvisation.
The concert features the special participation of Petru Moroi (saxophone and clarinet), Pedro Branco (percussions) and João Palma (accordion). The project is promoted by the Garvefole Accordion Association.
On December 2, at 11:00 am, it will take place at the Sagres fortress, “Rose-dos-Ventos” Dance and Drawing Laboratory, with Albina Petrolati, Leonor Morais & guests.
This project, promoted by Tertúlia Associação Sócio-Cultural de Aljezur, will focus on the issue of Human Rights and Acceptance and Non-Discrimination, using the wind as a physical and symbolic starting point to meet other peoples, traveling through music, dance, of the drawing and the word.
During this initiative, which will last 2 hours, images will be captured for the editing of a promotional video of the Sagres Promontory, distinguished with the European Heritage Label.
The European Heritage Label is an initiative of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union whose main objective is to strengthen the feeling of belonging to the European Union by its citizens, especially young people, based on common values and elements of history and cultural heritage, value national and regional diversity and increase intercultural dialogue.
