Rain returns to Algarve and Alentejo

This dawn has already rained in some parts of the Algarve

The rain has already arrived in the Algarve and should stay here until this Friday, November 6th. Forecasts show “moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms”. For Baixo Alentejo, precipitation is also expected. 

At dawn today, the 5th, it has already rained in some parts of the Algarve, mainly between Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.

According to the Meteophons, the precipitation should extend "in the afternoon too".

This Thursday, the wind will blow “moderate to strong (gusts up to 90km/h in the highlands) from the east. The maximum will be around 18ºC in the interior of the Algarve and 17ºC along the southern coast, 18ºC in the interior of Alentejo, 18ºC in the Vale do Tejo, 16ºC in the North Coast and 18ºC in the interior North and 12ºC in the interior Centro».

Tomorrow, Friday, the sky will be "generally very cloudy, with conditions for moderate to strong and persistent showers (during most of the day), which may be accompanied by thunderstorms, mainly in the Center and South."

The wind will be “moderate to strong (gusts up to 90km/h in the highlands) from the east. The maximum will be around 18ºC in the interior of the Algarve and 16ºC in the south coast, 17ºC in the interior of Alentejo, 15ºC in the Vale do Tejo, 15ºC in the North Coast and 16ºC in the interior North and 14ºC in the interior Centro».

As for the weekend, Saturday «will be, at first, calmer, with less cloudy weather during the morning and morning and with lighter showers. It intensifies again in the afternoon in the North, with periods of light to moderate rain».

On Sunday there will be "new rainfall intensification, which should affect mainly the North and Center in a moderate to strong way, but it may also reach the South."

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) also points out, for today, Friday and Saturday, the rain fall in the Algarve.
