Letter Cobblers return to Faro for two day festival

This will be the 4th edition

The Spoken Word Festival of the Algarve | Calceteiros de Letras takes place on the 14th and 15th of November at the Gimnásio Clube de Faro. 

On the 14th, at 21 pm, the festival kicks off with the project “He wrote for 30 pennies” by the Algarve's João Caiano and Martim Santos (Lágrima), inspired by one of the many stories of the grandfather of one of the interpreters.

This is followed by the presentation of “On the Road Jack Kerouac”, by Tó Trips (Dead Combo) and Tiago Gomes (Bible Magazine) which takes viewers to the famous Route 66.

On Sunday, November 15, at 16 pm, the presentation of “Diz-me, António” will take place, a show in the form of a tribute to the work of António Aleixo, in which three creators interpreters in the areas of dance, music and spoken word will take place. gather to reflect on the Algarvian Poet.

Afterwards, there will be the “Momento” space, dedicated to the poet Pedro Jubilot from Olhão, his work and literary path.

At the end of the initiative, the “Calceteiros de Letras” prize will be awarded (the winner will be announced on the same day), which, for the 3rd year, will distinguish an entity that over the years has contributed to the spread of the word and of poetry in a creative and original way.

Admission will be free for members of the Gimnásio Clube de Faro with current quotas. For non-members, the ticket costs 10 euros (Saturday) and 5 euros for Sunday.
