VRSA returns to offer reusable masks to the entire population

Local authority wants to "contribute to the safety of all"

The Vila Real de Santo António City Council will once again offer reusable masks to the population, one per citizen, through the “Solidarity Mask” project.

"With this measure, the intention is to contribute to the safety of all the people of Vila Real and stop the spread of Covid-19 in the county", according to the municipality of Vila Real.

The mask «is certified by Citeve and supports up to 5 washes (general use – level 3), and can be lifted, from the 6th of October, at the collection point available in each of the three parishes of the municipality».

In Vila Real de Santo António, the lifting of the mask can be carried out at the Town Hall. In Monte Gordo, the delivery point will be at the Community Center (Casa do Avô space), while in the parish of Vila Nova de Cacela the distribution will be made in the municipal market.

“There are another 20 masks, one for each citizen, which will contribute to everyone's safety. As we have argued, the widespread use of masks is, at this moment, one of the best resources we have at our disposal to stop the spread of Covid-19», according to Conceição Cabrita, president of the Chamber of VRSA.

In all locations, the service point will be open from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 am and 13:00 pm.

In parallel with the distribution of the masks, the City Council started a new Covid-19 prevention campaign, «having also reinforced the warning signs, respiratory etiquette and appeal for social distance in schools, markets, municipal spaces and commercial areas».
