Briton Daniel McLay (Team Arkéa-Samsic) won today, in Águeda, the fifth stage of the Volta a Portugal Special Edition, a stretch of 176,3 kilometers, which began in Oliveira do Hospital. The Algarve's Amaro Antunes (W52-FC Porto) is still dressed in yellow.

As expected, the tirade was decided between the fastest runners in the squad, in a sprint on arrival, uphill, to Águeda.

Daniel McLay didn't give the competition a chance, taking off at the right moment for victory.

Venezuelan Leangel Linarez (Miranda-Mortágua) was second and Italian Riccardo Minali (Nippo Delko Provence) closed the podium of the day.

The individual overall classification remained unchanged.

Amaro Antunes continues to wear the Yellow Jersey, 13 seconds shorter than Frederico Figueiredo (General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel Tuna) and 1m13s shorter than Gustavo César Veloso (W52-FC Porto), who occupy the immediate posts.

In the top-10 is also the Algarve´s João Rodrigues (W52-FC Porto), in 6th place, 2m00s behind the yellow jersey, and Alejandro Marque (Tuna General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel), in 7th, 2m15s off the leader.

The peloton returns to the road this Saturday, for a stage, with 155 kilometers, that will connect Caldas da Rainha to Torres Vedras.
