Photographs by António Jorge Silva, Duarte Belo and Pedro Tropa, showing their vision of «Places of Sophia», are at the heart of the exhibition dedicated to one of the most important Portuguese authors, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, which will be on display to the public , in Loulé, at Palácio Gama Lobo, from October 19th to December 10th.
This is the exhibition “Places of Sophia”, which aims to provide a visual interpretation of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen's poetic relationship with places, with special reference to the maritime landscape.
The invitation made to photographers António Jorge Silva, Duarte Belo and Pedro Tropa aims to put side by side the point of view of three artists who have different poetics, embodying an unprecedented reading of the writer.
This initiative is carried out within the scope of the Celebrations of the Centenary of the Birth of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen (1919-2019), organized by the Centro Nacional de Cultura, with the support of the Municipalities of Lisbon, Loulé and Lagos.
The show is curated by Federico Bertolazzi and José Manuel dos Santos.
In view of the recommendations of the General Directorate of Health, the space is limited to a number of participants.
The inauguration takes place this Saturday, the 17th, at 18 pm, at Palácio Gama Lobo.
Admission is free.
