Ceremony marks 15 years of the Convention of Faro

The session can be followed in live broadcast on social networks in the Municipality of Faro

The ceremony to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Convention of Faro it takes place next Monday, 26th of October, from 11:00 am, at Teatro das Figuras. 

The session will be attended by Guilherme D'Oliveira Martins, who chaired the Committee responsible for drafting the Convention of Faro, Ângela Ferreira, Assistant Secretary of State and Cultural Heritage, and Rogério Bacalhau, President of the Chamber of Faro.

The General Secretary of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, will also make a video appearance at this session, which will recall the Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society, signed in Faro on October 27, 2005.

After the interventions of the panel of speakers, there will be a musical moment in charge of the Jazz Quintet of the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve.
Taking into account the current pandemic context, the ceremony will be reserved for guests, due to the limited number of places, and will take place in accordance with all the norms and best practices recommended by the national authorities.
