Amaro continues to lead the Volta, Daniel McLay wins for the second consecutive day

The Algarve rider Amaro Antunes continues to be the yellow jersey of the Volta a Portugal on bicycle after the 6th stage of the race, held this Saturday, October 3rd, between Caldas da Rainha and Torres Vedras. Daniel McLay (Team Arkéa-Samsic) won for the second consecutive day. 

The British cyclist was once again the strongest, this time when he reached the sprint in Torres Vedras, home of the historic Joaquim Agostinho. McLay made the question of 3 hours, 38 minutes and 4 seconds.

João Matias (Aviludo-Louletano) was 5th and César Montargil (Tuna-General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel) 7th.

Regarding the individual overall, Amaro Antunes continues to wear the yellow jersey, with 13 seconds less than Frederico Figueiredo (Tuna General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel) and less than 1m13s than Gustavo César Veloso (W52-FC Porto), who occupy the immediate places.

In the top-10 is also the Algarve´s João Rodrigues (W52-FC Porto), in 6th place, 2m00s behind the yellow jersey, and Alejandro Marque (Tuna General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel), in 7th, 2m15s off the leader.

This Sunday, October 4th, there is a new stage, linking Loures to Setúbal (161 kilometers). This special edition of Volta a Portugal ends on the holiday, the 5th, with a time trial in Lisbon.
