Portimonense stayed in the Primeira Liga and fans kept their promise to go up to Fóia

The journey between Portimão and Fóia took about six and a half hours

15 fans of Portimonense promised to walk to Fóia, if the club stayed in the Primeira Liga, and this Sunday morning, the promise was fulfilled.

The group left Portimão Estádio at dawn, at 6:00 am, and reached the highest point in the Algarve around 12:30 pm.

The initiative came from Sofia Martins and her daughter, who were joined by other fans and also employees of the club.

After fulfilling this promise, Sofia Martins is already thinking about “higher flights” and, if Portimonense qualifies for European competitions, the walk will be to the Mother Sovereign Sanctuary in Loulé, also departing from Portimão Estádio.
