João Afonso and Teresa Salgueiro give concerts in the Republic 14

João Afonso, a singer whose work is heavily influenced by the music and rhythms of Africa, will perform in concert accompanied by a trio composed of guitars by Miguel Fevereiro and António Pinto and percussions by João Ferreira.

Born in Mozambique, João Afonso is an admirer of the plural wealth of the Portuguese language. Nephew of José Afonso, he also has a strong influence on him, including in his repertoire some essential songs by Zeca.

On Saturday, Teresa Salgueiro will take the open-air stage of República 14.

Known throughout the world through the group Madredeus, of which she was the central figure and charismatic voice, she continued her career always between the music of her country and music with a Mediterranean influence. Recently, he recorded the album “Horizonte” where for the first time he signs the composition of all themes.
