Italian resident in Loulé is the new mortal victim of Covid-19 in the Algarve

A man was in "critical situation" a few weeks ago in Intensive Care

An 80-year-old Italian, resident in the municipality of Loulé, is the most recent fatal victim of Covid-19 in the Algarve, confirmed the Sul Informação from a source from the Regional Health Authority.

The man was already "in a critical situation for some time, hospitalized in Intensive Care," said the same source. He ended up dying yesterday, at the hospital in Faro.

This is, according to data from the Regional Health Authority, the 21st death occurred in the Algarve region, due to Covid-19, since the beginning of the pandemic.

This new death in Algarve land was revealed today by the daily epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health. This entity accounts for 2 fewer deaths than the Regional Authority just because of the victims' residence.

This Tuesday, according to data from the DGS, there are 15 new infected people in the Algarve, bringing the cumulative total of cases to 1259.

On September 10, another death had occurred, also caused by the new coronavirus, of a man of Portuguese nationality, aged 64, residing in Albufeira.
