IP works on the Sotavento section of the EN125 and on other national roads in the Algarve

Works have an execution period of 120 days

The repair and improvement works on the Algarve's national roads, which will cost 1,5 million euros and which include the Sotavento section of the EN125, have already started, Infraestruturas de Portugal announced today.

This intervention “has the objective of restoring the minimum safety conditions in stretches of road integrated in the Algarve Litoral Sub-concession, which is the responsibility of the sub-concessionaire Rotas do Algarve Litoral”, according to the company.

In Sotavento, stretches of the EN125, but also the EN270, EN396 and EN398 will be repaired, «in the municipalities of Loulé, Olhão, Tavira, Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim, over a length of 64,4 kilometers».

In the eastern part of the Algarve, the planned investment is around 654 thousand euros.

In Barlavento, the investment will be around 836 thousand euros and the roads to be intervened are the IC1, EN124, EN124-1, EN266, EN268 and EN395(IC1), located in the municipalities of Vila do Bispo, Portimão, Silves, Lagoa , and Albufeira, in a total extension of 64,905 kilometers.

Both contracts have an execution period of 120 days.

"For the proper execution of the works and in order to guarantee the safety conditions for motorists and workers, it is necessary to implement traffic restrictions, with circulation taking place alternately with passage at the work site", warned the IP
