Young photographer from Faro opens exhibition at ALFA

Exhibition opens on World Photography Day

The photographic exhibition “Quartervois”, by the young Faroese woman Carolina Sousa, opens this Wednesday, August 19, at 18 pm, in the exhibition room of ALFA – Free Association of Algarve Photographers, at Galeria Arco, in Faro.

«The photographs on display were taken with the purpose of emphasizing the phase of a life that is necessary for anyone's growth», reveals the young author.

Together with a friend, «who embarked on the journey to the world of work as a dancer», she decided to convey the emotions that accompany her in the process, such as the feeling of freedom, determination, fear and hope.

Carolina Sousa, a 19-year-old Portuguese photographer, was born in Faro, started in the visual arts and attended his first photography course at ALFA with the aim of perfecting his passion for photographic art.

Since then, he developed his projects and studied for a year “Media and Communications” at Goldsmiths University in London, where he developed his knowledge, having started to work with analogue photography which he works with more often.

On August 19, World Photography Day is celebrated, which has been celebrated since the first permanent photographic process was patented and released for free to the world.

The exhibition has all security measures and will be open to the public.

Even so, visits are subject to prior booking through 918059638 or by pre-booking: [email protected].

Room capacity is limited to eight people. A virtual tour of the works will be available on the Internet here

This exhibition is made up of two dozen high-resolution black and white images, which can be visited until 7th September, between 17 pm and 00 pm.
