The Algarve maintains 13 active outbreaks of Covid-19, revealed this Monday, 24 August, Graça Freitas, general director of Health, at the press conference to assess the pandemic.
The official said that there are 148 active outbreaks in the country: 55 in the North, two in the Centre, 62 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 12 in Alentejo and 13 in Algarve.
The number of outbreaks in the Algarve region remains at 13, similarly to what happened on 19 August, when Minister Marta Temido also took stock of these data.
As for the Alentejo, at the time, there were 15 active outbreaks, now dropping to 12.
At today's press conference, Graça Freitas explained that an active outbreak “does not mean” that the “situation that requires care”.
It does mean, "that the last case hasn't occurred 28 days ago," he concluded.
