Court suspends ascents to the II League after Olhanense's injunction

The Algarve has already reacted, welcoming TAD's decision

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD) announced this Monday, 27 July, that it has suspended accessions to the II Football League of Arouca and Vizela, after the Olhanense have filed an injunction.

In a statement, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) says that it "continues to defend the objective criterion of sporting merit and the solutions that best guarantee stability and predictability in the organization of competitions."

The FPF "will analyze this decision and consider the solutions to be adopted, including that of appealing this decision to the competent administrative court", he adds.

The Algarve has already reacted, welcoming the TAD's decision.

"Difficult times like those we live in, demand extraordinary, solidary and courageous measures that respect the sporting truth, the competitors, their legitimate expectations and ensure compliance with the basic principles of equality, proportionality, impartiality, reasonableness and justice", says the SAD do Olhanense, in a statement.

Last May, the Portuguese Football Federation decided to end the Portuguese Championship, indicating Vizela and Arouca as teams that climb to the II League.

At issue was the fact that they are the emblems with the most points won, in a decision that has always deserved reviews from Olhanense, who was also leading one of the series of the Portuguese Championship, but with fewer points.
