The exhibition “Sal Centrípeto”, by Ivo, opens on 1st August, from 17 pm to 00 pm, at Solar das Pontes de Marchil, headquarters of Associação 20, in Faro.
The exhibition will be open to the public until 20 September, from Thursday to Sunday, from 15 pm to 00 pm.
As a student at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, Ivo is co-founder of the Homeostético group, participating in all the group's exhibitions, after completing his degree.
In addition to maintaining a very fruitful activity as an artist, Ivo has taught over the years in various places, such as at Ar.Co (Center for Art and Visual Communication) or at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
Since the eighties, Ivo has held over 25 solo exhibitions and participated in many other collectives.
About the exhibition “Sal Centripeto”, the author writes:
«Art, an agglutinating rhizome, unites multiple points of different situations to create a territory.
Art is a resonance, an expansion box for our experiences. Art makes the unknown visible, revealing it.
Between silence and chaos, contradictory movements emerge in an endogenous/exogenous action, which in the end become one.
From the ionization of water comes Salt. Salt conserves and destroys. Enhances or spoils the flavor of food. We can say that salt is made up of the same matter as the stars. The stars can blind, guide or light us.
I dreamed of a rabbit that ran drawing a circle. I was late for work. So, he ran, he ran, not realizing that, even if he ran more, he remained in the same place. Then, in a centripetal movement, he found his goal, drawing a new line for his path».
The direction of the 289 Association advises that, due to public health issues arising from the Pandemic, it is necessary to reformulate activities with regard to mediation with the public, complying with the directives of the authorities, so that artists and the public can enjoy the space and the exhibition in safety.
Therefore, the 289 Association will open its doors on the opening day for three hours, with a series of guidelines for visitors to the exhibition, also appealing to the civic sense of the community.
Thus, the use of mask and hand hygiene will be mandatory, with hand sanitizing gel being made available at the entrance of the space.
To control the number of people and length of stay in the space, interested parties who want to be at the opening of the event are asked to make a prior appointment.
This appointment must be made by email to Associação 289 – [email protected], between the 25th and 30th of July, leaving the names of those who intend to visit the exhibition, the number of members of the group and the amount of time desired. A confirmation reply or suggestion of another time will then be sent, as the limit of people permanence cannot exceed 30. The available hours will be the following: 17:00 – 17:45 | 17:45 pm – 18:30 pm | 18:30 pm – 19:15 pm | 19:15 pm – 20:00 pm.
