Adriano Pimpão resigned at the meeting last Friday, June 26, to the position of president of the Municipal Assembly of Loulé and will no longer be a municipal deputy, due to differences with the socialist executive and with the municipal bench of the PS, party on whose lists he was elected. The news was advanced, first hand, by the Sul Informação.
In a statement sent to the newsrooms, the PSD says that "the serious problems that are experienced internally in the Loulé City Council are not new today, especially within the executive led by Vítor Aleixo."
"We know that the malaise of some councilors has been growing, it is already undisguised and is based, on the one hand, on the blatant inefficiency and inefficiency of the mayor, who has long elected the management of his own image as the main priority, to the detriment of the county's development and to the detriment of the infinite promises he made in the campaign and, on the other hand, in his almost dictatorial, stubborn posture and of fixed ideas, characteristic of those who believe they are the owner of all certainties", say the Social Democrats .
According to the PSD, the executive led by Vítor Aleixo goes “sailing at the whim of the tide and limits itself to announcing – and financially sponsoring – large investments in central State projects, transforming the city council into a kind of branch of the government of António Costa” .
As for the resignation of Adriano Pimpão, the Social Democrats say that the former president of the Municipal Assembly of Loulé "deserved our respect from the first day, as he always guided his intervention in the utmost respect for the supervisory role of that body."
This is, for the PSD, "a heavy blow to the socialists in Loulé".
As for the Left Block, he says that Adriano Pimpão is a “person of recognized competence and intellectual honesty”.
«At the origin of this conflict with the local PS was the discomfort with which the Socialist Parliamentary Group reacted to the exemplary way in which it sought to exercise its powers, fully assuming the functions of supervisory body for the municipal activity, thus making it very inconvenient for the municipal executive and the Socialist Party of Loulé», accuses BE.
The Left Bloc also expresses “its solidarity with the outgoing president of the Municipal Assembly, who has always had a democratic and respectful posture for the plurality of points of view and thanks the great availability and impartiality with which he dealt with all the political forces represented in this important organ for the exercise of local democracy”.
With this resignation, the Bloc says that democracy is “losing” in Loulé, with the threat of partisanship in the Municipal Assembly and the increasing arrogance of the Socialist Party hovering in the air. ».
«The Left Bloc regrets this situation, which does not ennoble the PS and reaffirms its critical and collaborative posture, maintaining its availability to be the spokesperson for Loulés and to fight objectively for the deepening of representative and participatory democracy», he concludes.
