The Loulé Council will once again test all educators and assistants in the municipality's pre-school network. The decision comes after a confirmed case of an employee, infected with Covid-19, in a daycare center in Quarteira.

In a statement, the municipality says that "it will promote a broad screening, through diagnostic tests, to all educators and assistants of the pre-school network in the municipality of Loulé in all its segments, public, private and solidarity".

«It is estimated that, in all, around 460 people will be tested, among all teaching and non-teaching staff», explains the Câmara de Loulé.

This will be, therefore, the second test to be taken by educators and pre-school assistants in this municipality. the first was done even before the reopening of the crèches.

As for the case at the António Aleixo Foundation crèche in Quarteira, which has already been closed, the municipality says that “it will continue to closely monitor the evolution of the situation, in close coordination with the public health authorities and others, under the coordination of José Apolinário, government responsible for the fight against Covid-19 in the Algarve».

The Chamber "is fully available to collaborate and help in the urgent task of controlling the situation and protecting the entire community."

According to the determinations of the public health authorities, "all the measures considered to be the most adequate to protect the children, educators and other staff of the institution where the crèche in question operates have already been taken".

The municipality of Loulé has 103 positive cases, in accumulated terms since the beginning of the pandemic, of which only 16 are active «and following the instructions and advice of the municipal public health authority».
